| WHAT
ARE THEY?
If you're wondering whether your headaches might be migraines, there are telltale signs.: If your headaches include at least two symptoms from the following: * The pain is on one side
of your head
and one symptom from this list * Nausea
and if they last between four and 72 hours, the chances are you're dealing with a migraine. Migraine involves intense, throbbing pain that usually begins in the temple or one eye and may eventually spread down to the neck or even one arm. Bright lights can make a migraine person's eyes water helplessly and send darts of pain into their head; small noises become magnified, and ordinary noises may be almost unbearable. Often the headache is accompanied by nausea and vomiting. About one in five migraine sufferers are warned by bizarre events called "auras". An aura may involve a perception of flashing lights or an experience of numbness travelling up and down the body. It may also cause temporary partial paralysis, blindness or an inability to speak. Migraine headaches are
neither dangerous nor life-threatening. But they sure are a pain!
